Eagles vs. Bucs Week 6: Fantasy Football Sit/Start Advice

Josh Collacchi takes a look at the upcoming game's fantasy implications.

Howard Smith-USA TODAY Sports

Through five games, the Eagles offense has been one of the best in football in terms of fantasy points. Michael Vick and Nick Foles have combined for around 130 fantasy points at the quarterback position in most leagues. That puts the Eagles quarterbacks in the top five as far as fantasy football goes. LeSean McCoy is the leading rusher in the NFL, and a top three fantasy running back. DeSean Jackson is averaging 105 yards per game, and is in the top five fantasy receivers. Even Alex Henery is among the tops at his position after a 20 point outburst against the Giants.

It would not be wise to have the Eagles defense in any leagues, and for obvious reasons. But, as mentioned last week, there are a few players to keep an eye on in IDP leagues. Although Cary Williams allows a ton of catches, he also gets tackles. This bodes well for fantasy football. Another one to keep an eye on is Earl Wolff. The more he plays, the better he will get, and the more tackles he will accumulate.

This week, the Eagles take on the winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs have cut Josh Freeman, coach Greg Schiano is on the hot seat, and the entire team looks like it is on the verge of collapsing. WIth that being said, the Bucs still have a talented bunch of skill players who could thrive against the Eagles defense.

Here are the fantasy options for the Eagles and Bucs for this week. Rank is a rating from 1-5, 5 being the highest. It represents the start or sit advice. A 5 should start in every single league, a 1 should not start in any league.

Player Rank Projections
Nick Foles 3 270 yards and 2 TD with 1 INT
Mike Glennon 2 260 yards and 2 TD with 2 INT
LeSean McCoy 5 125 yards and 1 TD, 6 catches 50 yards
Doug Martin 5 125 yards and a TD, 4 catches 30 yards
DeSean Jackson 4 7 catches 85 yards and 1 TD
Vincent Jackson 5 8 catches 110 yards and 1 TD
Jason Avant 3 7 catches 65 yards
Mike Williams 4 6 catches 65 yards and 1 TD
Brent Celek 2 3 catches 50 yards
Tom Crabtree 1 3 catches 25 yards
Alex Henery 4 3 FG and 3 XP
Rian Lindell 3 1 FG and 3 XP
Eagles Defense/Special Teams 3 24 points allowed, 375 yards allowed, 3 sacks and 2 INT
Bucs Defense/Special Teams 2 30 points allowed, 460 yards allowed, 3 sacks and 1 INT
