Eagles coaching rumors: Jay Gruden expected to interview

Frank Victores-US PRESSWIRE

The Eagles are embarking on what will be a very busy weekend as they continue their search for a head coach to replace Andy Reid. Today they are off to Arizona to meet with Chip Kelly and likely Syracuse's Doug Marrone. We've previously profiled Marrone if you want to learn more.

Chip Kelly will also meet with the Bills and reports are he plans on making a decision before the weekend is over, if not before the day is over.

Marrone has already met with the Bills and is also in Arizona, to meet with the teams that are down there chasing Chip Kelly. That alone should make it pretty clear which guy is the primary target...

On Sunday, they will head to Denver to meet with Broncos OC Mike McCoy, who many BGNers have as their top target.

The other bit of new news is from Adam Schefter, who says the Eagles are expected to request permission to interview Jay Gruden on Monday. Gruden is the Bengal's offensive coordinator and can interview for head coaching jobs after wildcard weekend. We'll do a full profile on Gruden on Monday.

One thing to note though is that the report only mentions Gruden, not Bengals DC Mike Zimmer, who we liked.
