The San Diego Chargers have offered their head coaching job to Mike McCoy and he has informed the Broncos that he will accept.
That takes one candidate off the board for the Eagles, albeit not one considered a serious contender, but more importantly it removes one of the other suitors for Gus Bradley. The Seahawks DC interviewed with San Diego last Friday.
The only other team connected to Bradley at this point is the Jaguars, who have loose plans to speak with him later this week. However, with Bradley (and presumably his family) in Philadelphia today, that option may dry up quick.
Open jobs are becoming few and far between. The Bears are reportedly having 2nd interviews with Mark Trestman & Darrell Bevell, so it would seem that it's down to the those 2 guys. Really the team that's looking the most murky at the moment is the Cardinals, who were looking to have Mike McCoy in for a 2nd interview.
By the way, the Seahawks are really learning the price of success. They could very well lose their offense & defensive coordinators, who will in turn likely poach at least some of their own staff. And now there's a report that their VP/Administration John Idzik is interviewing for the Jets GM job.
