Cleveland Browns hire Rob Chudzinki as head coach

David Richard-USA TODAY Sports

One more team is out of the head coaching market as the Cleveland Browns have reportedly hired Panthers offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinki as their next head coach. He's the 3rd head coach hired this offseason after Andy Reid in Kansas City and Doug Marrone in Buffalo.

Chudzinki wasn't really on the radar of any other teams and only interviewed for the Browns' job on Wednesday. After striking out on guys like Chip Kelly and Marrone, he must have really impressed Joe Banner and new Browns owner Jimmy Haslam.

Chudzinki spent the last 2 seasons as the offensive coordinator of the Panthers and previously held the same position in Cleveland.

As for the Eagles, this doesn't really change much since they never had any reported interest in Chudzinki. It does take one more team out of the market for other coaching candidates though.

With this hire, the team still in the market for a head coach are the Eagles, Chargers, Bears, Cardinals and Jacksonville, who just fired their coach Mike Mularkey today after only one year on the job.
