Football Is officially back. The Giants and Cowboys open the 2012 NFL season tonight at 8:30pm on NBC. The game had previously been scheduled for Thursday, but was moved when the NFL found out that President Obama would be making his convention speech that night. Given that its the first game of the season, moving to Wednesday wasn't really a big deal.

The Giants will get their Super Bowl rings and raise another banner in MetLife Stadium in what should be just a delightful ceremony to watch. Meanwhile, the Cowboys will start their quest to find the elusive gloryhole.

For Eagles fans, tonight is really a wash. These are by far our two biggest rivals and greatest threats in the NFC East. I suppose a tie would be the best outcome, but in all likelihood that's not going to happen. Really the only way someone really gets the year off to a bad start tonight is if the Giants lose. This is a home game, they're being celebrated as champs... all the pressure is really on them. It wouldn't be a killer blow for the Cowboys to lose, but it would be an embarrassing start for New York.

Chat about the game here.

This is also your last chance to get week one picks in for our new Pick 6 fantasy game. It closes for the week when the Giants and Cowboys kick off.
