After nine seasons in the NFL, Eagles legend Brian Westbrook has finally decided to hang up his cleats. Now he's trading them in for a microphone. Along with fellow former Eagle Leonard Weaver, Westbrook will be joining the Comcast SportsNet's All-Star Coverage Team for the upcoming season.
Fans can see Westbrook every week on Comcast's 30-minute show "Eagles Extra," where he joins co-hosts Ron Burke, Brian Baldinger and Ray Didnger as they break down the upcoming game. The show airs every Monday at 6:30pm and 11:00pm EST.
Weaver, on the other hand, will be joining a panel of hosts on "Eagles Pregame Live," a pregame show broadcast live from Lincoln Financial Field one hour before each home game. Weaver will join host Michael Barkann, Eagles Insider Ray Didinger, former Philadelphia governor Ed Rendell, and CSNPhilly.com's Geoff Mosher and Derrick Gunn.
While it is disappointing that we won't be able to see either of these two fan-favorites on the field anymore, it will certainly be a pleasure to see their familiar faces on the pregame programs. Both have left memories of entertaining personalities that should translate very well into a role in front of the cameras. I'm sure you will all join me in congratulating these two on their new gigs: hopefully, the start of many to come.
