Jeremy Maclin was a full participant in the Eagles first practice of the week, a strong sign that he'll be ready to play this weekend against the Giants. He may not be the only help the Eagles get at WR as Riley Cooper was also listed as a full participant.
Andy Reid says that Cooper is "close."
"He's close. He's going to practice today. He's getting there. We'll just see how he does. He hasn't had much contact; as a matter of fact, very little contact. So we'll see how he does today."
Fletcher Cox sat out with a migraine yesterday. He's expected to be back at practice this week, but those are certainly always something to keep any eye on. Perhaps the most sneaky/scary injury of the week is to long snapper Jon Dorenbos, who has a high ankle sprain. Reid says he's making progress but isn't sure whether he'll be ready to go this weekend.
"I don't know that. I can just tell you that yesterday he was limping, today he's not. So, we'll see how he does tomorrow."
Losing your long snapper is a recipe for disaster. Look no further than the Raiders vs Chargers game this year where Oakland was unable to get off a single punt in 3 tries after losing their long snapper. It's one of those positions you never think about until a disaster happens. The Eagles did sign a long snapper to their practice squad this week and Reid said that Brent Celek has done it before as well.
Make no mistake about it though, the last thing we want is Brent Celek long snapping.
