With the Eagles first preseason game mere hours away, I thought we'd play a little game of prediction/wishful thinking. Who will be tonight's player of the game?

Let's assume we can eliminate the big names on offense like Vick, McCoy & Jackson because they'll probably only play a couple series. Out of the guys that will play enough to merit consideration, who do you predict or just hope will end up as the player of the game? I've got a few candidates.

Mike Kafka - If you need someone to lead you from behind in a preseason game, there may be no better QB the East-West Shrine game legend himself Mike Kafka. Does he put in another legendary preseason performance?

Defensive Ends - The starters, who in the absence of Cole & Babin are actually the backups, will play a lot tonight. That means the likes of Brandon Graham, Phillip Hunt & Vinny Curry will be lined up in that Wide 9 with lots of chances to attack the QB. Does one stand out?

Return men - Special teams is always fun in the preseason because usually both teams have no idea what they're doing. Most of the blockers won't even be on any NFL roster in a few weeks, return men are all trying to make a play to get noticed... and it usually makes for some entertaining stuff. DeSean Jackson ran a punt back as a rookie in preseason, can Brandon Boykin or Damaris Johnson do the same?

Running backs - Preseason is made for young RBs to make a name for themselves. By the second half (if even that long), every other play will be a run, so they'll have more than enough opportunities to make a play. So does a Bryce Brown or Chris Polk pop up and become the next Danny Woodhead (who ran for over 200 yards against the Eagles in a preseason game against the Jets)?

Or literally anyone else on the 90 man roster... Give your picks in the comments
