The Eagles announced the signing of free agent DT John Gill this morning. FB Jeremy Stewart has been released to make room on the roster.
Who is John Gill? Oh... I'm glad you asked.
Defensive tackle John Gill was arrested for public intoxication.
WTHR reports that Gill was found by police on the side of a road in Indianapolis, passed out, barefoot and unable to stand on his own.
Police say Gill was wearing disheveled and soiled clothing when they found him in a ditch, officers could smell a strong odor of alcohol and his speech was slurred.
That happened on an off day at Colts training camp in 2010. The charges were eventually dropped.

Side note - If Garrett Reid's death taught us anything, its that addiction is no laughing matter. While admittedly, reading the description of Gill's arrest does come off as kind of funny and luckily he's still here to be made fun of about it... But in the end, it is a serious thing and we're all certainly glad to see that this guy appears to be turning his life around.
