Joselio Hanson, OJ Atogwe Among 19 Eagles Cuts

The Eagles have made 19 cuts this afternoon to trim their roster to 56, meaning there's 3 more left to go. Veteran corner Joselio Hanson was probably the one real surprise of the cuts so far. However, he really hasn't been the same player since returning from his PEDs suspension and didn't stand out in preseason.

His departure likely means that Brandon Boykin will be the slot corner. Of course, we could always see a set where Nnamdi Asomugha moves inside and Curtis Marsh plays outside.

OJ Atogwe was also released, which is no surprise given that he couldn't get healthy. S Phillip Thomas was also let go, meaning that Jaiquwan Jarrett has likely made the team, but that the Eagles will probably also be in the market for a veteran safety.

As for other notables. Keenan Clayton simply didn't do enough to keep his spot. Rookie Marvin McNutt was let go after failing to distinguish himself in the preseason. WR Mardy Gilyard was also axed despite his good preseason performance. Finally, our old pal Chad Hall did not make the cut. Here's the full list.

S OJ Atogwe, CB Joselio Hanson, TE Brett Brackett, LB Keenan Clayton, DT Landon Cohen, TE Chase Ford, WR Mardy Gilyard, WR Chad Hall, FB Emil Igwenagu, OT DJ Jones, WR Marvin McNutt, LB Adrien Moten, DT Ollie Ogbu, LB Ryan Rau, DE Monte Taylor, S Phillip Thomas, DT Frank Trotter, OL Stave Vallos, and OL Brandon Washington.

There are three cuts/subtractions left to make. Oddly Mat McBriar has yet to be cut, perhaps they're trying to trade him? I don't know who will trade for a punter... but there's got to be some reason he's still around. Word is that Mike Kafka is being shopped around for a possible trade. And also, there's still 4 RBs on the roster. So there's a chance that one of Dion Lewis, Chris Polk or Bryce Brown could be let go or traded as well.

Notable guys still on the team who could be bubble types. Trevard Lindley, Brandon Hughes & Colts Anderson, who would be PUP eligible.
