This game started out a lot like the last one. The defense did get off to a good start, but a few series in dumb penalties and the inability to diagnose a screen (despite the fact that it was the only play the Patriots ran) caused a number of breakdowns that led to two Patriots scores.
Then... Michael Vick got hurt. He was absolutely crushed as Evan Mathis and Todd Herremans let two rushers come free. He left for X-rays, which came back negative. So, I suppose bullet dodged yet again.
The Eagles did rally late in the half though. Brandon Boykin got down super fast on punt coverage and likely caused a fumble. A nice run from Stanley Havili set up the Eagles first TD afterward. Then, Phillip Hunt gets a strip sack to give the Eagles the ball in the red zone. The Eagles convert for another TD thanks to a great throw and catch from Nick Foles to Clay Harbor.
Overall, this game certainly doesn't look one team is playing starters and the other is playing backups.
