Kafka Out 2-3 Weeks; Bell Demoted

Mike Kafka's week just got worse.

After a poor showing against the Steelers had some questioning where he stood on the depth chart, Kafka will now miss 2-3 weeks with a fractured left hand. Kafka injured the hand when someone stepped on it Thursday.

The good news is that it is his non-throwing hand, and Kafka will still be able to participate in 7-on-7 drills.

But for live drills, Nick Foles will now be the backup quarterback, a role fans thought he earned after his 2 touchdown performance on Thursday.

If Kafka is out 2-3 weeks, he could potentially miss the Eagles next 2 preseason games- which would be a big blow in his chances of making the team.

In other news, Demtress Bell- who the Eagles were hoping would be able to replace Jason Peters- has been demoted to the 2nd unit. King Dunlap will take his place with the starting unit.
