The issue of Michael Vick learning to slide, rather than take big hits has been one Eagles fans and NFL pundits have talked about since his arrival. Now it appears the issue has reached the highest levels... The President of the United States has weighed in.
According to Zach Berman of The Philadelphia Inquirer, the president on Monday chatted football with Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, who spoke at an Obama fundraiser in Oakland, Calif.
Said Obama about the Eagles' QB: "Tell Vick to slide."
Vick has heard the president's request and apparently intends to listen. He tweeted the following.
If the President of the U.S is saying I need to slide then I really need to start sliding. Lol. Thanks Mr. President!
So can we count this as an official executive order? Will the FBI haul Vick off to Gitmo if he goes shoulder first into a linebacker this year?
We'll see...
