Matt Williamson of Scouts Inc has been doing a future series for ESPN in which he predicts the top players at each position in the 2015 season.
In his look at WRs, he mentions DeSean Jackson as an honorable mention. However, he ranked Jeremy Maclin at #9.
After dealing with some very difficult circumstances last season, I am predicting a big year from Maclin in 2012. He is a great fit in Philadelphia's offense with his big-play ability and overall explosiveness. Maclin turned 24 years old a few weeks ago, so those physical qualities should still be there in 2015.
Maclin was on a pretty solid upward trend after year 1 and 2 of his career and looked set for a breakout in year 3 until an illness than doctors initially thought was cancer robbed him of nearly his entire offseason. He lost a lot of weight and presumably a good bit of fitness as well. While he didn't really have a bad season last year, he didn't take that next step either.
However, in 2012 with him fully healthy and the reports from camp about his fitness and work ethic off the charts... He seems set for that breakout this year.
