Roseman Wrestles with Draft Process
Roseman gave the distinct impression you shouldn't expect them to take anybody who might have star-level talent but doesn't always play hard. One of the things the Eagles have learned through trial and error is that you can't teach or instill effort.

Roseman said the Eagles have examined everything about the way they’ve drafted in recent years, both the positives and the negatives, and looked at other teams to see what’s worked for them. He said the Eagles won’t make the mistake of drafting for need anymore, resisting the temptation to take a player at a position where they’re weak and making sure they simply take the best player available. He said they’ll also place less emphasis on the Combine and personal workouts, focusing instead on game film.

The team is looking at some really good returners. Devon Wylie, T.Y. Hilton, and Damaris Johnson. Wylie is a pure slot receiver and RS. He’s got the speed to play outside, but I haven’t seen him catch many downfield throws. That skill set might exist, but it’s unknown at this point. Wylie is a great PR.
