2012 Philadelphia Eagles Schedule Released

The Eagles have released their full 2012 schedule. They'll be on primetime five times with games against the Giants, Saints, Panthers, Cowboys and Bengals.

A few initial impressions... It's a pretty evenly balanced schedule with only one set of back to back road games and the second of those back to back games is against the worst team on the schedule. Based on how teams finished last year, it would appear that later part of the schedule is a bit easier... but of course the further away the games are, the harder it is to project how good or bad a team is. The early to mid part of the schedule (weeks 2-9) would seem to be the toughest.

The worst part of the schedule has to be weeks 4 & 5 where the Eagles will face two 2011 playoff teams coming off their byes. The Steelers have week 4 off, the Lions have week 5 off. Schedule-makers do the Eagles no favors there.

And just for good measure, the schedule makers added a 3rd game facing a team off their bye when the Eagles travel to Washington in week 11. [Note by JasonB, 04/17/12 7:47 PM EDT ] And guess what? The Falcons and Eagles have the same bye week. So that's technically 4 teams coming off their bye. Not sure if that has ever happened.

[Note by JimmyK, 04/17/12 8:59 PM EDT ] - I'm feeling the need to articulate just how atrocious this schedule is. This is a complete and total failure by the NFL.

They did give the Eagles a home Thursday night game, so that worked out in our favor.
