Eagles 2012 NFL Mock Draft Roundup, Post DeMeco Ryans

New, comments

Perusing mock drafts this offseason for Eagles fans has been pretty boring. Mock drafters have been more or less copy and pasting Luke Kuechly at the #15 spot for months. However, the Eagles trade for DeMeco Ryans this week changes things. I wouldn't say that it totally rules out Kuechly, but it certainly means that middle linebacker is no longer the biggest need.

So for the first time since the offseason began, the Eagles pick in mock drafts is Kuechly free.

NYT - Dre Kirkpatrick, CB, Alabama - Another cornerback? No. Kirkpatrick is being viewed by many as the draft’s top safety.

Sporting News - Devon Still, DT, Penn State

Sports Illustrated - Fletcher Cox, DT, Mississippi State - The DeMeco Ryans trade means the Eagles have their 2012 starting middle linebacker already on their roster. That frees up Philly to look at several positions in the first round, defensive tackle, offensive tackle and safety among them. Cox is the draft's third-rated DT, and while the position isn't an urgent need, you know how Andy Reid loves his big guys up front.

Baltimore Sun - Michael Brockers, DT, LSU - They continue to beef up against the run after trading for MLB DeMeco Ryans.

Michael Brockers was also Mel Kiper's latest pick for the Eagles.
