Everyone knew that Robert Griffin III was the most athletic QB prospect in this draft, but the show he's putting on at the combine this week may cement him as the most athletic QB to come out in years. Griffin ran a 4.41 and a 4.38 in the 40 yard dash today, the fastest times for a QB in 12 years.
Compare that with Cam Newton, who last year turned a 4.6 40 time. Michael Vick didn't run at the combine, but he's said to have run in the 4.3s in college as well, so Griffin has that kind of athleticism.
Here's video of RG3's runs if you're interested. Also, we posted some odds earlier this week about who would run a fast 40, Griffin or LSU QB Jordan Jefferson. While Jefferson did turn in a solid 4.59 (the 2nd best for a QB this year), it obviously doesn't match up to RG3.
So far the top performer of the week in the 40 is Georgia Tech WR Stephen Hill, who turned in a 4.3 flat.
