Undermanned Eagles looking for revenge vs Redskins

Rob Carr

The lineup juggling we talked about yesterday seems to be even more murky. Rookie Chris Polk was slated to play FB in place of the injured Stanley Havili, but he has been listed as doubtful and according to Andy Reid, likely won't play.

What that means is rookie FB/TE Emil Igwenagu will start at FB and Evan Moore, who the Eagles signed a couple days ago, will be active as the backup TE. Andy Reid says he doesn't think it will be a big deal.

"Well, no. If Evan [Moore] came in and he wasn't familiar with the offense, that would have made it more difficult," Reid said. "With him understanding, it wasn't a big deal for him to come in and step in and get a few plays. Emil can do both, the fullback and the tight end spots so that gave us some flexibility there where we didn't have to change much from our normal offense."

Onto the Redskins, the previous meeting between these two was officially the worst beating the Eagles have received all season. They went down 31-6, which just barely edged out the 27-6 whipping that came at the hands of the Cardinals.

Jeremy Maclin says the team hasn't forgotten about that game.

"There have been two games this year where we just got flat out dominated, and that was one of them," he told reporters. "It's frustrating because we couldn't get in a rhythm with turnovers. I just felt that everything that could go wrong went wrong, and it's kind of been that way all season. Individually, I didn't have a catch that game so it's motivation for me to go out there and hopefully make some noise to help my team."

Robert Griffin III threw for 4 TDs in that game and barely had to lift a finger to do so. Darryl Tapp says they're looking forward to getting another shot at the rookie of the year candidate.

"Definitely. The first time you play anybody [there is] kind of a feel out period. We got felt out so hopefully we can figure it out and get this guy confused a little bit."
