Eagles place Clay Harbor on IR

USA TODAY Sports

The Eagles announced today that they've placed backup TE Clay Harbor on injured reserve with a lower back injury. Harbor picked up the injury after his first catch last Thursday night, but managed to stay in the game. It was his first ever start in place of the concussion Brent Celek.

This means the Eagles will need to make a roster move, but haven't yet. They'll likely wait to see whether it looks like Brent Celek can play this week. If he can, they'll should be able to go into the game with him and rookie Emil Igwenagu backing him up. If not, they will have to add another TE.

It really is bad luck for Harbor, who certainly would have qualified as one of those young guys we were hoping to get an extra look at over these last couple games.

Harbor has 25 catches for 188 yards and a pair of TDs on the season.
