Nick Foles nominated for 3 weekly awards

The NFL has caught a bad case of Foles fever

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

The NFL sends me press releases every week with all the players up for the "FedEx Air & Ground players of the week." However, with the Eagles being who they are this year I haven't checked them much because Eagles players have rarely been nominated.

Not so this week. Nick Foles has been nominated as the NFL's air player of the week along with Tom Brady & Cam Newton.

Philadelphia Eagles rookie QB Nick Foles completed 32 of 51 passes for 381 yards and two touchdowns in the Eagles' 23-21 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Of course, if you get the nod for player of the week and you're a rookie it's probably fair to assume you'll get nominated for PepsiMAX Rookie of the Week as well. Foles did.

Wide receiver TRAVIS BENJAMIN of the Cleveland Browns, quarterback NICK FOLES of the Philadelphia Eagles, running back ALFRED MORRIS of the Washington Redskins, safety HARRISON SMITH of the Minnesota Vikings and running back DAVID WILSON of the New York Giants are the finalists for PEPSI MAX NFL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK honors for games played on December 6-10, the NFL announced today.

But the Foles fever does not end there. The NFL has one more corporate sponsored award for you and Foles is up for that as well. The GMC Never Say Never Award.

Nick Foles, Philadelphia Eagles - Last-second TD ends Eagles' skid: The Philadelphia Eagles can finally put their longest losing streak in 42 years behind them. QB Nick Foles threw two touchdown passes in the final four minutes, including a 1-yard, game-winning throw to WR Jeremy Maclin as time expired, to give the Eagles a 23-21 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The win put a dramatic end to an eight-game losing streak.
