Eagles vs Cowboys: Danny Watkins to miss another game

Jim McIsaac

The Eagles announced today that Danny Watkins will miss his 3rd straight game with an injured ankle leaving the Eagles already thin offensive line at it's thinnest point of the year.

With Todd Herremans going down last week, the Eagles have lost 4/5ths of their projected starting offensive line. Their backups now consistent of 3 guys who among them have played in 1 NFL game.

Dennis Kelly, a rookie tackle making his 3rd straight start at guard, was asked whether its possible to form any continuity with so much change on the line.

"It's kind of a mix," he said. "it's not like you can push a game back or anything like that. There are things that we can do in our off time, whether it's just watching film together to see how each other sees things or work with each other outside of practice and regular film study. That way, we can kind of speed up the process of jelling together."

There's no doubt that after the awful showing in New Orleans, the Lincoln Financial Field crowd will have their fingers on the boo trigger from the get go on Sunday. But Kelly says they just have to block it out.

"You can't listen to a lot of those things and you can't care [about] what people are saying. If it affects you too much, it can take you out of your game. We'll just have to approach it like it is the beginning of the season and be aggressive, take care of things, and do our job, that's the most important thing. If we can do that, we should be fine."
