Michael Vick injury: Eagles QB still not close to returning

With Michael Vick still at stage one of his concussion recovery, it seems likely that Nick Foles will make his 2nd straight start next Monday night.

While there is still a full week yet to go, it appears likely that we'll be seeing Nick Foles as the starting QB for the Eagles when they host the Carolina Panthers next Monday night.

Speaking at his Monday press conference, Andy Reid said that while Michael Vick was "improving" from the concussion he suffered last week, he still has yet to pass the baseline tests and as such is still considered to be in stage 1 of the recovery process.

In other words, he's in the same position he was in last week. When you consider that he couldn't even go outside in the light or drive a car last week, it would seem fairly unlikely that he'll be prepared to be a starting QB in the NFL this week.

That said, Reid did confirm that when Vick is healthy again he will resume his duties as the starter.

On the performance of Nick Foles in his first start, Reid said it was a mix of good and bad.

"I thought there were some good things that he did and then there are some things that he can definitely learn from. But he made a couple of nice throws, tight throws early that I thought were some pretty good plays. Again, there are some things that he can work on. He's a young guy; a rookie, so there were a couple of rookie mistakes, but there were some positive things too."
