Despite all indications that he would play and the player himself talking about going after certain records, LeSean McCoy is inactive for today's season finale against the Redskins. Even though he was a full participant in practice on Friday, the word is that his ankle swelled up over the weekend.

So as tough as it may have been to be interested in this last game, it just got a little tougher and things just got a little less interesting for the paying customers at the Linc today. Then again, given the product the Eagles have put forth at home this season, they should be used to it by now.

Also inactive for the Eagles are CB Asante Samuel, DT Cedric Thornton, G Julian Vandervelde (who by my count has been inactive all year), WR Ron Johnson (who was just signed off the practice squad this week, so I suppose all that means is that he gets a little pay bonus, otherwise it was pointless to promote him), LB Greg Lloyd (why they would not take the opportunity to look at a young LB in this game is beyond me) and DT Mike Patterson (who has the flu.)

So it's a pretty infuriating list of inactives this week. If we take the team at it's word that Shady is too hurt to play, then so be it. But it makes no sense to not even take a look at Greg Lloyd, why bench Thornton if Patterson can't go? There was another chance to look at a young player.
