The Eagles play their third preseason game tomorrow against the Browns at Lincoln Financial Field. Typically, this third preseason game is the last real warmup the starters will get before the real season begins, so it's always the most important and meaningful. Plus, the team actually starts to treat this week like they would a regular season week. There's a little bit of film study and game planning for the Browns. The practices are similar to how they would go for a real game, so hopefully we'll be seeing a crisper and better effort than we did last week.
The good news on the injury front is that Mike Patterson will indeed play, 18 days after suffering the seizure at camp. Andy Reid says he'll be working Mike in easy.
"He was out 18 days or so, and he's been back for the four here." Reid said, "He kept himself in good shape, but again we'll treat him like it's the first preseason game that he's played. A little bit like I did with [WR] DeSean [Jackson] last week. Just limit his reps and see how he's doing. Communicate with him during the game, see how he's feeling."
Andy also talked about his expectations for Michael Vick this week.
"Just continue to execute and lead the way that he has in the past, and he'll do that. There's going to be a blip every once and a while, that's how it is when you play quarterback and you have the ball in your hand every snap, but you have to have a short-term memory and learn from it and move on."
