Just to be clear, this is not a post mocking the New York Giants. For any football fan, the #1 most frustrating thing to deal with is injuries. It's one thing if your team isn't good enough or your coach is stupid or your GM doesn't know what he's going etc... Those are frustrating, but at least you get to see your players playing.
The Giants have been hit with a rash of injuries that would be sure to drive any fanbase mad (and is). Almost right off the bat they lost first round draft pick Prince Amukamara to a broken foot. He should be back at some point this year, but he will have had zero practice time by then. CB Bruce Johnson then tore his achilles.
The news for the Giants secondary got even worse last night when CBs Terrell Thomas and Brian Witherspoon tore ACLs and are done for the year. Thomas tore his after colliding with his own guy, Jason Pierre-Paul, and Witherspoon tore his on a kick return. Unfortunately for them, the bloodbath that was last night's game did not stop there.
The team just announced that rookie DT Marvin Austin, expected to help fill the hole created by the departure of Barry Cofield, tore his pectoral muscle and is done for the year.
