DeSean Jackson apparently didn't get the memo about how the Eagles' signing of wideout Steve Smith was unrelated to Jeremy Maclin's illness. "The reason why they picked him up is they're unsure of Maclin's health," Jackson said today following his first practice since ending his 11-day training camp holdout.

First Impressions – Eagles @ Ravens | ProFootballFocus.com
The revamped defensive line is already taking shape in Philadelphia. It didn’t take long for newly acquired Eagles DT Cullen Jenkins to make his mark. Despite good initial protection, Jenkins eventually came free to get his first QB hit on the first play from scrimmage. The former Packer wasn’t alone as Trent Cole once again flashed his ability against the run, pushing Michael Oher aside to make a tackle for a loss. Not to be outdone, DE Daryl Tapp, who was rotating for Cole, blew past new FB Vonta Leach bringing Rice down for a 5 yard loss. It wasn’t just an all out attack either as DT Antonio Dixon sniffed out a screen that forced Joe Flacco to throw the ball away. With help from LDE Jason Babin, Cole got a sack on the next drive.
