Caplan: Eagles In Pursuit Of LB Stephen Tulloch

Adam Caplan is reporting that the Eagles and Lions are in pursuit of Titans' free agent LB Stephen Tulloch. The middle linebacker has ties to both teams with former Titans assistants Jim Schwartz and Jim Washburn. The 5-11, 240 pound 26-year old had a bit of a breakout last year finishing second in the NFL with 160 tackles.

He does fit the mold of an Eagles target quite well. A younger player just entering his prime who has established himself as a standout starter. On the other hand, the Eagles targeting one of the top linebackers on the market? That's not something we ever get to say. Certainly adding the productive and durable Tulloch to the center of the defense would be an upgrade over Stewart Bradley and add a veteran presence to a young LB corps.

Tulloch is mulling his offers as we speak, tweeting this morning, "Decisions,Decisions,Decisions....Feels like being drafted all over again..."

The Lions have reportedly made Tulloch their top free agent priority and they have similar cap space to the Eagles. Their initial offer included over $10 mil in guaranteed money, so at this point they probably have to be considered the favorite.
