Brian's Song advanced after a surprisingly close matchup with The Last Boy Scout in our greatest football movie ever tourney. Today, we've got a #4 vs #5 game we're calling the "All American Matchup." Why? That'll be pretty obvious by the names.
Knute Rockne, All American is a 1940 film which tells the story of Notre Dame football coach Knute Rockne. While there's a pretty good chance you haven't seen this movie, you've probably heard its most famous quote, "Win one for the Gipper." The quote from movie was used in Ron Reagan's presidential campaign since Reagan played George "the gipper" Gipp in the movie. This is also the only movie on our list to be deemed "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant" by the United States Library of Congress and selected for preservation in their National Film Registry.
Everybody's All American is a 1988 film starring Dennis Quaid playing college football hero Gavin Grey, who struggles adjusting when his college career ends and he heads into the pros. Funny note from this movie, during the filming of one of the football scenes Dennis Quaid had his collarbone broken by New England Patriots' Tim Fox.
