After reading that the NFL Combine attracted 5.2 million viewers last season, or more than double the viewers to ESPN’s baseball telecasts on a typical week, I thought two things: Football draftniks have absolutely no lives, and the news probably emboldened the NFL owners to hold out for a better deal with the players. They were probably shocked to hear that their network had that many viewers, considering the NFL Network is in 43 million fewer homes than powerful ESPN.

Andy Says In Joe He Trusts | Eagletarian | 02/23/2011
As Eagles coach Andy Reid arrived in Indianapolis today, he told your Eagletarian he was unaware of team president Joe Banner's remarks last week. Banner expressed strong support for Reid and his ability to win a Super Bowl, but Banner also indicated Reid needs to win one to get another contract, after the one that expires after the 2013 season. "I haven't read anything about that," said Reid, who is attending the annual NFL scouting combine. "But I have full trust in Joe."
