The Eagles announced today that Trent Cole has underwent successful arthroscopic surgical debridement of his right elbow yesterday at the Rothman Institute at the Thomas Jefferson Surgical Center at the Navy Yards in South Philadelphia.
"Debridement" is the medical removal of a patient's dead, damaged, or infected tissue to improve the healing potential of the remaining healthy tissue. Basically a clean out, which is something a lot of NFL players get done at various points in the offseason. It shouldn't have an affect on his ability to be ready for training camp (assuming there is one blah blah blah) but he might have to lay off the bow hunting in the offseason...
So woodland creatures might be able to rest a little easier tonight, but opposing QBs probably won't.
