The NFL schedule has now swelled to four games per week playing on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday. Like you all, I love football... but this is too much. Part of what the makes the NFL so great is you wait all week for games. For them to be played most nights of the week just takes the fun of it.
Rant aside, tonight's game does have some importance for those still keeping the faith for an Eagles playoff spot. A Dallas loss tonight would mean that the Eagles would actually gain control of their own destiny in the race with the Cowboys. Remember that Dallas needed to go no better than 1-3 over their last four and the Eagles needed to win out. Dallas lost to New York and now if they lose tonight, the Eagles would have to beat them head to head and Dallas would be overtaken. And if the Cowboys did get their one allowed win against the Giants, well... then we might be onto something.
Of course, the Eagles still need to win out and have the Giants lose 2 of 3 so the playoffs remain a very distant hope. But either way, it's always fun to root against the Cowboys. The game is in Tampa, but the Bucs have lost 7 straight...
