Is A DeSean Jackson Contract Coming Soon?

The Eagles have until November 14th to extend players and put part of the hit on the current year's cap. So if any players are going to get extensions this season, it's probably going to happen roughly within the next two weeks. Obviously the guy we'd all think of first as in line for a new deal is DeSean Jackson, who is in the final year of his rookie contract.

Jackson told Les Bowen today that he thinks a new deal will get done.

"I think it will work out." Jackson said. "After the bye week now, there's a lot more time for things to get done."

The implication that Les took from the conversation was that Jackson was hinting that things are at least moving along as far as a new deal.

While it hasn't felt like DeSean has had the same impact so far this season that he has in seasons passed, he's actually on pace for a quite a good year. He's on pace for 64 catches, 1,216 yards and about 5 or 6 TDs. Those numbers would basically be right in line with his career averages.
