Eagles Trade Ronnie Brown To Lions For Jerome Harrison

For the second year in a row, the Eagles signed a free agent RB to be LeSean McCoy's backup and decided before the trade deadline that he wasn't working out and they should trade him for Jerome Harrison.

So like Mike Bell last year, the Eagles have sent Ronnie Brown to the Lions for Jerome Harrison and a 7th round pick in 2013. The Lions needed an extra back after Jahvid Best was hurt on Sunday and frankly, Brown wasn't even being used in Philly. After his inexplicable "fumble," Dion Lewis started getting virtually all of the backup RB carries.

"I didn't know if somebody was playing or not, but then once I realized it was serious, I was like ‘cool,' you know, play for a great coach, great organization. I'm excited to be back." said Harrison "The week off will be huge to get back in the playbook and start hearing the terminology again. I have been checking out the Eagles to see how LeSean is doing and he's doing great. I'm excited to be back."

So sending off Brown to a place where he should get some playing time is probably best for all parties. And in return the Eagles get a guy that has been successful in their system and an extra pick down the road.
