Eagles Holding Auditions For New Drumline

The Eagles announced that on Monday October 4th they'll be holding auditions for a new drumline that the team is starting. Initially, the new drumline will play before games.

The initial plan is for a dozen or so paid drummers to perform in uniforms before games, perhaps moving to various locations outside Lincoln Financial Field, said Eagles spokeswoman Pamela Browner White.

I think it's a great idea. To me, the sound of a drumline is the sound of a football game. At every level of the game but the NFL, the sound of those drums is part of the atmosphere of a football game. Personally, I'd much rather hear a good drum line pumping up the crowd than having Nickelback blaring over the stadium speakers every time play stops.
