Not one of the usual special teams suspect. No, it was three-time Pro Bowl corner Asante Samuel's turn. "I haven't played special teams in five years," Samuel yelled out to his teammates with a smile as he jogged onto the field.

April said Avant, who returned punts at Michigan, has the ability to be a good punt returner. "We've only been trying for a couple of days," April said. "I've been real impressed with him. He made a couple mistakes [Sunday] on some balls, but it will get better just by experience. "You never know how this roster is going to play out. But if your top two guys are injured, you've got to have a contingency plan."
Eagles Notes: Ingram OK, But Still Slowed By Knee
"Nothing with the knee. It was actually coming from when I was icing [the knee] and taking ice to go," Ingram said. "A lot of the tape and stuff they wrapped around my leg cut off the circulation because it was too tight. The calf kind of swelled up, but the knee feels great. "I’ll be back [Monday], anyway."
