So much of McNabb's legacy here will be determined in the months and seasons that follow his departure. Kolb will get a honeymoon, for sure, but it will be short.

Even with a potential game-change move in front of them, they're just not set up to make a decision like this. They just want to get through the draft, then finalize the Jed/Marathe power base, then see what happens with the stadium vote. In fact, the juicier the rumors get, the less believable they actually are. Like the one about McNabb and Asante Samuel coming to Oakland in exchange for Nnamdi Asomugha and his $16 million/year, plus a draft pick above No. 42 (the Raiders have Nos. 8 and 39). It makes superficial sense, but the more you think of it, the more hinky it becomes.
