More news about some private workouts that the Philadelphia Eagles have scheduled has trickled out. Scout.com is reporting that the Eagles will hold a workout with Indiana offensive tackle Roger Saffold. Saffold is a four year starter for the Hoosiers at OT, but some scouts say he projects as a guard at the next level. In fact, some draft sites have ranked Saffold as the 2nd best guard prospect in the draft behind Mike Iupati, who the Eagles have also scheduled a workout with.
The Eagles certainly appear to be kicking the tires on all the top guard prospects in the draft.
On the other end of the spectrum, the Eagles are also reportedly set to work out Michigan punter Zoltan Mesko. At 6'5 235lbs Mesko is built like a linebacker and has developed into a weapon on special teams for the Wolverines. He's considered by many to be the best punter in the draft.
Mesko also happens to be an excellent kickoff specialist. 89% of his kickoffs went into the end zone, which is just another way he could help a team.
