I really don't envy someone who has to make NFL power rankings this year. The defending Superbowl champs look mediocre at best, perennial powers like the Colts also look rather mediocre. Teams like the Falcons and Eagles look they're on the rise one week, then they get blown out the next. A team like the Giants keeps winning, but looks sloppy and turns the ball over a ton of times in doing do.

Can you say a team that played as bad as the Redskins did on Sunday is better than another team that might have lost a game in which they actually played better? What about a team like the Bucs who have a good record but you have no faith in? It's hard to say. What you end up getting is a big muddled middle of teams between #5 and #20-ish that aren't significantly different. They're all flawed but have all shown signs of being able to be good.

What we are seeing is that teams are starting to drop out. We might not be able to truly tells who's any good, but we're getting a pretty good idea of who stinks....

In our latest SBNation.com power rankings, the Eagles have fallen four spots out of the top ten to #14. They're just behind the Redskins and ahead of of the 4-2 Buccaneers. That puts the Eagles as the 3rd ranked team in the division and the 6th ranked team in the conference. We'll update this as more power ranks come out over the course of the day.

[Update by JasonB, 10/26/10 4:09 PM EDT ] More power ranks in now.

ESPN has the Eagles sliding a spot to #11.

FOX Sports has the Eagles taking a huge drop down 7 places to #15.
