If Brian Dawkins was Wolverine, Asante Samuel has become the Eagles' Joker. The all-pro cornerback has been the most vocal player during this spring's minicamps, and even though he and his coach say it's nothing new, it's certainly more conspicuous now that Dawkins has taken his superhero act to Denver.

While Eagles wait on Westbrook, a couple of veteran free agents could be considered --
-- Veteran NFL running backs Edgerrin James , Deuce McAllister and Rudi Johnson were still free agents as the Eagles went to work Thursday for a third consecutive day without feature back Brian Westbrook.

It seems that Lesean McCoy was the last to know that Brian Westbrook would be having surgery.
