Not a lot of surprises this week as the Eagles jump up in the power ranks and the NFC east gets well represented at the top.
Fox Sports has the Giants at #1(where they belong IMO) ahead of the Cowboys and the Eagles at #3
Very gritty win against Pittsburgh last week, accomplished with seven offensive starters injured throughout portions or all of the game -- including main men McNabb and Westbrook. Watch out QBs: Defensive whiz Jim Johnson is dialing up the blitzes again
ESPN has the same top 3 but with Dallas as #1. Having Dallas guy Matt Mosely writing them helps I'm sure. Eagles #3.
They put up points against a solid Cowboys defense and then used a fierce pass rush to slow down the Steelers. We need to see how Brian Westbrook responds to the ankle injury.
CBS sportsline has the Eagles at #5 up from #12 last week.
They're darn near perfect, except for the tough loss at Dallas. The defense bounced back in a big way in shutting down the Steelers. They looked like they had 13 men on the field.
The Sporting News has the Eagles at #7. Behind the Packers?
There are many reasons this team has been good for so long under Andy Reid. Here is one: Donovan McNabb, Brian Dawkins, William Thomas, Jon Runyan and David Akers all have held up as a decade-long nucleus
Sports Illustrated has the Eagles at #2...
Those were the Eagles I've known, ever since the Buddy Ryan days. Hungry, nasty dogs, blitz-happy maniacs, never mind how unsound the students of the game might find it. So why did they pull their horns in against the Cowboys? Maybe they're saving the real stuff for when they get them in Philly in December.
