Desean Jackson to start vs Pats

Well, after downplaying Desean Jackson's performance against Carolina Andy Reid and the Eagles have decided to start the kid in the always important 3rd preseason game against New England.

The Eagles starting units will see plenty of action Friday night in New England as Andy Reid is slated to play his starters into the 3rd quarter. One starter that will definitely not play is WR Reggie Brown, who will be sidelined with a hamstring strain. Rookie WR DeSean Jackson will take his place in the starting lineup. As far as Shawn Andrews' status, Coach Reid has been pleased and encouraged by his week of practice but no determination has yet been made on whether he will see action on Friday night.

You could say that the Eagles just want to get him work... but you could say the same thing about Hank Baskett or Jason Avant who could use the work as well. So can we take anything else from this other than that Jackson has overtaken those guys on the delpth chart? The 3rd preseason game is as close you'll get to a real game before Sept 7th, so the fact that Reid is starting Jackson in this situation speaks alot about how the organization feels about this kid.

Remember, Jackson started the preseason #6 on the depth chart.
