Asante Samuel makes his Eagles debut tonight, unfortunately his competition may be limited with 3 of the Panthers 4 top WRs all expected to be out of the lineup. Brian Westbrook and Reggie Brown will both return to the Eagles lineup after missing last week's opener due to a coaches decision and achilles injury respectively. Earlier this week Andy said he anticipated his starters to play a full half tonight.
For the Panthers, standout 2nd year LB Jon Beason returns after missing the Panther's first preseason game with an ankle injury. Rookie RB Jonathon Stewart also did not play last week and is questionable to make his NFL debut tonight. Panthers QB Jake Delhomme, like Donovan McNabb, played just two series last week but expects more time this week. Coach Jon Fox plans to play his starters into the second quarter but with Delhomme splitting the first team snaps with QB Matt Moore. Last week Delhomme referred to the Eagles as "a salty bunch." Thanks, I think?
