Chad Johnson gives me deja vu

Our old pal!
It seems like a standoff is brewing in Cincinnati these days between Chad Johnson and the Bengals. On one side Bengals coach Marvin Lewis has flat out said "there will be no trade of Chad Johnson."

On the other side is of course Chad Johnson who has made no secret of his displeasure with the organization. Well... you always knew it was just a matter of time before everyone's favorite agent got involved.

Chad Johnson's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said Sunday that the Bengals wide receiver has no plans to sit out the 2008 season, according to a published report.

"Chad Johnson will play football in 2008," Rosenhaus told the Cincinnati Enquirer on Sunday.

But when asked if he'll be playing for the Bengals next season, Rosenhaus was noncommittal.

"Our plan is for Chad Johnson to play football in 2008," Rosenhaus told the newspaper. "That is how I will respond to the report."

On Sunday, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported that Johnson feels betrayed by head coach Marvin Lewis and is privately threatening to sit out the 2008 season if he isn't traded, according to a source.

So there's the situation. I still get the feeling that at this point the Bengals are simply hoping to weather this little tantrum and not trade Chad. However, were a team to approach them with the right package... well then who knows?

So the question I pose to you is... Is this a case where the Eagles should have learned their lesson with the TO situation? Or should they now let the TO situation make them gun shy and go all in once again?

If it's me... I'm pushing my chips to the center of the table.
