Asante Samel to visit Eagles plus other rumors

First and foremost Fox sports is reporting that Asante Samuel will visit Philadelphia today. The same article says that WR Jerry Porter is headed down to Jacksonville for a visit and may already have a contract in place.

ESPN's John Clayton has also confirmed that Samuel is coming to town for his first visit.

The phone was busy for Patriots cornerback Asante Samuel with the Eagles making the early calls and winning the first visit. Samuel is hoping to get a five-year, $50 million or six-year, $62 million contract that will force him to leave the Patriots.

Clayton is also reporting that Miami has signed 49ers guard Justin Smiley and 49ers Tackle Kwame Harris could be headed across the bay to Oakland. As for the 49ers, they've signed 4 players including Vikings linebacker Dontarrious Thomas, Lions quarterback J.T. O'Sullivan, Panthers RB DeShaun Foster, kick-returner/cornerback Allen Rossum.

According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune WR Bernard Berrian will be visiting the Vikings. The Star-Tribune is also reporting that Randy Moss will remain with the Patriots.

Finally, the race for Steelers pro bowl guard Alan Faneca is down to San Francisco, St Louis, and the NY Jets.
