Eagles Rumor Mill - Javon Walker

It looks like Broncos WR Javon Walker is going to be cut, and the Eagles would be interested.
The Eagles may be poised to pursue a veteran wide receiver.

An NFL source has told Comcast SportsNet's Derrick Gunn that the Denver Broncos are likely to release unhappy wide receiver Javon Walker, who is due a $5.4 million roster bonus on March 4, and the Eagles are one of the teams interested in signing him.

Dissatisfied with his role in the Broncos' offense, Walker (6-3, 215) has made it known that he wants out of Denver. Because Walker is still under contract, the Eagles are not permitted to comment.

Back when Walker was traded to the Broncos, he was so close to deal with the Eagles that he'd taken a physical and agreed to a contract worth around $7 million a year.

I suppose smart money says that if the Eagles were so hot for Walker 2 years ago, they'd have some interest now. Not only is Walker a bigtime playmaker when healthy, he's played in the west coast offense his entire career.

The problem with Walker is that he suffered a major knee injury in 2005. He rebounded with a good year in 2006 with Denver, but was again hurt in 07 with another knee injury that required more surgery on the same knee he hurt in 05.
