This is the most points the Eagles offense have scored since they put 58 on who? That would be these same Detriot Lions in the 1995 playoffs.
The Rumors of My Demise Have Been Greatly Exaggerated
Welcome back #5. If McNabb set out to fix his accuracy from last to week to this week, I'd say he was fairly successful. He completed over 80% of his passes on route to a 381 yard, 4 touchdown day. With his back against the wall to a degree he may have never seen in his career, McNabb responded with perhaps the greatest game of his pro career.
Welcome to Philadelphia Kevin Curtis
Curtis tied an NFL record for recieving yards in the first half with 205. He finished the game with 11 rec for 222 yards and 3 TDs. It was the greatest game by an Eagles WR since Tommy McDonald caught 7 balls for 237 yards against the Giants in 1961.
Don't forget B-West!
Is it possible for two offensive players to have the kind of games McNabb and Curtis had and still arguably not be the best offensive players on the team? Yeah.
Westbrook's line? 221 total yards, 110 rushing, 111 receiving. He ran for 7.9 yards a carry & caught 5 balls. Oh and don't forget THREE touchdowns.
There's pressuring the QB, and then there's what the Eagles did to Kitna today
Count em, nine sacks from this Eagles D today and the pressure came almost exclusively from the front four. Four sacks for Trent Cole, 2 for Broderick Bunkley, and 2 from the best left defensive end on the Eagles... Juqua Thomas. They held Detriot to 4-14 on 3rd down and 39 yards rushing. I understand the Lions had to throw, but holding a team to 39 yards rushing is impressive. They gave up some big plays to Roy Williams in particular, but all in all it was another fantastic performance from this Eagles' D. This was the top passing attack in the NFL coming into this week.
All in all, thank you Eagles and welcome back! Oh and the uniforms? Still bad.
