Despite a typically lackluster preseason showing from the Birds there were a few standout young players. So I figured it would be worth voting on a preseason MVP. And the nominees are...
Kevin Kolb - Threw for 617 yards and 2 TD while completing 66% of his passes in 4 preseason games. Was named NFL network's player of the week for the final week of preseason.
Brodrick Bunkley - Registered 9 tackles and one pass defensed while generally playing like the best defensive lineman on the team.
Stewart Bradley - Made 14 total tackles and garnered solid praise each game.
Rashad Barksdale - Had 13 tackles, 2 passes defensed, and one INT for 35 yards. Was singled out by Jim Johnson for praise.
Jason Avant - 9 receptions for 104 yds
Sav Rocca - Averaged 45.6 yards a punt, put 5 inside the 20 and had 5 punts fair caught. His long was a 65 yarder.
Tony Hunt - 30 rushes for 92 yards and 2 TDs. Also caught 7 balls.
Brent Celek - Amassed 13 receptions for 143 yards averaging 11 yds a catch.
