One of the most iconic and recognizable logos in American sports is changing, kinda. The National Football Leauge has changed its logo for the first time in nearly 30 years. In reality the change is more of an evolution. At first glance I doubt 90% of people will even realize that it's been changed at all. The number of stars has been reduced presumably to make the logo scale better for merchandise and various types of new media. The football is now more or less a copy of the one on top of the Lombardi trophy and the typeface of "NFL" has been updated to be a bit more modern.
The new logo will be implemented at the 2008 NFL Draft.
