Holcomb trade coming this week? Trotter to retire?

New, comments

Some general Eagles news of note to share this afternoon. First, it looks like Kelly Holcomb will be traded this week to one of 4 interested teams.

According to a league source, as many as four teams have contacted the Eagles about acquiring Holcomb, and the team intends to move him this week as long as Donovan McNabb, A.J. Feeley and rookie Kevin Kolb got through last night's preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers healthy.

The Eagles will likely only get a 6th or 7th round pick in return.

Whether Trotter while hang em up or not isn't for sure, but it seems he's having trouble finding the kind of job he wants.

A league source said last night that Tampa Bay and Denver are the only teams that have expressed interest in linebacker Jeremiah Trotter, who was released by the Eagles last week. Both teams apparently are interested in Trotter as a backup, and it seems unlikely that he will be interested in playing that role.

Update [2007-8-27 17:16:21 by BleedGreen]: It's a done deal. Holcomb to the Vikings per the official site for an undisclosed pick in 2009. NFL Network's Adam Schefter is saying it's a sixth round pick in 2008.

Update [2007-8-28 9:30:21 by BleedGreen]: It's a 6th rounder in 2009. I believe the Vikes do not have a 2008 6th rounder.
